Benfield Supports Backpack Buddies

Throughout April, Benfield Elementary students and FroYo House of Severna Park collected spare change supporting the Services from the Heart Backpack Buddies program. Generous Benfield students donated spare change and some donated their birthday money to help children receive weekend food backpacks. Benfield Elementary collected $694.96 in spare change and the FroYo House of Severna Park collected $113.92.

Leading the effort were school counselor Cindy Brabson Wrye and FroYo House manager Sophie Petit. Services from the Heart is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit providing weekly food backpacks to 91 children attending three schools within Anne Arundel County (Eastport Elementary School in Annapolis, Hilltop Elementary School in Glen Burnie and Belle Grove Elementary School in Brooklyn Park).
