Burman Announces Plans To Close Spark Running, Expresses Thanks To Loyal Customers

Caitlin Burman, owner of Spark Running in Park Plaza, recently announced plans to close shop later this year. Although no specific last day has been set, Burman indicated she plans to keep her doors open through early summer.

“Spark Running has been an adventure for me, and I'm so grateful to have been a part of your fitness journey,” Burman wrote in an online announcement to her customers. “I’ve gotten the opportunity to meet and make friends with some truly incredible people along the way. We’ve had tremendous success here, much more than I ever imagined.”

Since opening in 2011, Spark Running has twice been voted Best Athletic Gear Shop and Best Customer Service in the Severna Park Voice Best of Severna Park contest, for which Burman said she was very grateful.

“Throughout my time in operations, I have grown personally and professionally,” she continued. “With that growth, I have come to realize it is time to move on. I have other personal, professional and business interests to pursue, and running the store no longer affords me the time to do those things. This is much like running a race. We’ve had a great run, a personal best if you will, but three and a half years later, we are crossing the finish line … I look forward to seeing all of you on the trail and at races in the future.”
