Chamber Update

Posted

We are excited to announce our newest members of the chamber: Inspiring HR, Chris Carr, Monument Sotheby’s International Realty, Sierra Pacific Mortgage Company, Budding Voices LLC, EscapeTime, Hope Springs Community Church, Total View Home Inspections, Bulldog Bikes and Floats, Tracey Bellottee, Keller Williams Flagship, Change Your Pace, MWE Partnership, CertaPro Painters of Severna Park, Virtual Safety Man, and Safety First Swimming.

What a busy month filled with meetings and ribbon cuttings. We welcomed the new and gorgeous Monument Sotheby’s location in Severna Park with a ribbon cutting attended by more than 100 people. Next, we celebrated the wonderful renovation that Ledo Pizza owner Martin Gorman has done in the back room of the Severna Park location. It is a great place for private meetings, and the food is excellent.

Our third ribbon cutting was at EscapeTime, the latest entertainment business in “the Park.” There are three themed rooms with clues and you must figure out how to “escape” in an hour. It’s a great source of fun for friends, family and even for company team-building.

Our Successful Women in Business group teamed with the Pasadena Business Association for a joint networking luncheon at Two Rivers Steak & Fish House in Pasadena. More than 50 women attended! Our next event will be held at Carrabba's Italian Grill on April 11 and will feature vendors.

Our Business “Bites” luncheon was held at Romilo’s and featured press release tips from the pros. Voice Editor Dylan Roche and Chesapeake Family Life CEO Donna Jefferson were the presenters of this informative meeting.

One winner at this year’s ASPIRE awards was Chuck Roydhouse of Clean Sweep. Chuck is a retired firefighter who started Clean Sweep decades ago to ensure that neighborhood chimneys were safe to operate. He is the founder of the International Sweep Away Cancer Foundation, which helps fellow fire service people who are suffering from cancer. The foundation raises money to offset transportation and treatment costs and other expenses.

We have just posted registration and sponsorship forms on our website for three signature events:

Shop Local, May 19, from noon to 4:00pm at Park Plaza

Health and Wellness Expo for You and Your Pets, June 2 from 10:00am to 4:00pm

Independence Day Parade, July 4

These are fun events for everyone, and there will be entertainment, demonstrations and much more!

The theme of this year’s parade is “Serving Your Country, Serving Your Community.” It’s not too soon to think about building a float! Advertise your business, your community, your club or group!

We are more than happy to help you with ideas and ways to build the floats. Call us at 410-647-3900 and we will help you make your ideas a reality for the parade!

Come see what the chamber has to offer you! Attend our free breakfast on April 6, from 8:00am to 9:30am at Spring Arbor, located at 345 Ritchie Highway, and learn more about our wonderful and active chamber. Please RSVP to ceo@gspacc.com.
