Champion Realtor Jean Andrews Celebrates 25 Years

Fair Oaks resident Jean Andrews has accomplished a lot in her lifetime. She’s been an eight-time top producer in her company, voted “Realtor of the Year” for Anne Arundel County, served as past president of the Anne Arundel County Association of Realtors, and now, the Champion realtor is celebrating 25 years in the business.

“Back when I was a teacher, I would look at the clock and think, ‘Only 15 minutes have passed?’” shared Andrews. “But today, I still can’t believe how fast the day passes.”

For Andrews, the expression “time flies when you’re having fun” still rings true.

A native of upstate New York, Andrews met her husband, Bob, through their respective college choirs. After briefly residing in Virginia and Germany, where Andrews’ husband was stationed, then in South Carolina, the Andrews moved to Annapolis. Soon after, they became residents in the Fair Oaks community of Severna Park, where they still reside.

“After my younger daughter turned 10, I decided it was time to help contribute to the college funds,” smiled Andrews.

Even though she had a master’s in child development/early education, the re-certification process demanded by the Board of Education was lengthy and tedious. Andrews knew a woman in her community who had a similar personality to her own – quiet, thoughtful and friendly – and who made a living as a realtor.

She chose Champion because of the proximity to her home and the reputation of then-president Chris Coile, and she’s never looked back. She praises the company for being wonderful and nurturing - the kind of place where you can just walk into the president’s office.

“The company and the people I work with are so welcoming. There isn’t this ‘dog-eat-dog’ mentality,” said Andrews.

The praise goes both ways.

“Almost from the minute she started, you knew she’d be terrific,” expressed manager George Savani. “Our job is to make friends quickly and make people feel comfortable about investing in something that typically will be their biggest investment. As soon as you talk to Jean, you feel she has all the knowledge you need.”

Andrews’ success no doubt comes from her caring personality and hard-working attitude. Even after a quarter of a century, Andrews continues to be in her office on B&A Boulevard seven days a week. “It’s an amazing feeling to know you are helping people with this major decision in their lives. It’s exciting! And no two days are ever the same. I’ve had so many positive experiences,” she added.

While retiring completely doesn’t appeal to Andrews, finding a better work/life balance so she can enjoy traveling and spending more time with her two daughters and five grandchildren is a goal she’s pursuing.

Andrews recently attended the celebration of her parents’ 70th wedding anniversary. Longevity is obviously in her genes and that’s great news for Severna Park and its Champion Realtor.
