Come Take A Walk In Kinder Farm Park

The Freestate Happy Wanderers Walking/Volksmarch Club has scheduled a walking event on June 8 in Kinder Farm Park, celebrating National Trails Day. Volksmarching, or noncompetitive fitness walking, is a wonderful way to discover historical and quaint places in Maryland at a slower pace. The Kinder Farmhouse will be open for tours on June 8, and we will have available information on all the trails our club sponsors in Maryland.

The Freestate Happy Wanderers Walking Club is a locally based club in Maryland. All of the trails are sponsored by local clubs belonging to the American Volkssport Association (AVA), a national nonprofit organization that promotes an awareness of physical fitness for people of all ages. The Year-Round (YRE) walk in Kinder Farm Park is one of 16 trails Freestate sponsors; others are in Savage, Chesapeake Beach, BWI Airport Trail, Ocean City, Brookside Gardens, Cambridge and several more that you can walk any time.

Our walks are non-competitive events (volksmarches) scheduled throughout the year, and mostly scheduled on weekends with several other walking clubs in Maryland. They are not a pledge walk but are fun walks, to do by yourself or with your family, friends, and pets at your own pace. Adequate time is allowed to finish the event 5K or 10K trail.
