EscapeTime Opens First Location In Severna Park

A team of native Anne Arundel County real estate professionals is bringing a new entertainment venue to Severna Park Market Center.

With the grand opening of its first location at 487 Ritchie Highway, EscapeTime will offer the opportunity for team-building, birthday celebrations and a night out to all age groups.

Escape rooms form a team of two to 10 people who enter a unique, theme-based room. The team has 60 minutes to solve the clues that will “unlock the door” and create the success of true teamwork or the attempt to achieve an escape before time runs out. Within each room are puzzles, clues and codes that must be deciphered. Sometimes a clue will lead to another clue, a way out or a dead-end — all with the heart-pounding thrill of racing against the clock.

“It’s an exciting 60-minute experience that ticks away quickly as you apply teamwork and communication to solve each puzzle, riddle and clue,” said Jose Matos, co-founder of EscapeTime, Severna Park. “Be prepared to collaborate in creative ways, learn each other’s talents and discover who’s the Einstein among the bunch. It’s obvious why we’ve noticed that corporate team-building exercises are moving toward escape room settings.”

Escape rooms offer a great time for the entire family, blending modern and classic game scenarios. The creators of EscapeTime, Matos and Russell Paterno, designed three scenarios to choose from.

Arabian Nights – Try to escape the evil genie’s clutches.

The Hangover Suite – What happened last night? Your suite is destroyed, and security officers are on their way.

Area 51 – You have made your way to a bunker, locked in with secrets from the world’s greatest mystery.
