Happy 104th Birthday, Edith Ramsay!

Edith Ramsay, a resident of Sunrise Senior Living in Severna Park, celebrated her 104th birthday on September 25, surrounded by family, friends and Sunrise staff, who all helped her blow out the 104 candles on her cake. A resident of Sunrise since January 2016, Ramsay previously worked for the government as a secretary until she was 70 years old, refusing to give them the satisfaction of her retiring early. She and her husband were married for 54 years until his passing. She taught as a Sunday school teacher for most of her life, starting in her early teens. She has one son, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. When asked for advice to others, she said, “Do a lot of walking and exercising. Start now. Treat others the way they like to be treated. Trust the man upstairs."
