Hey, Kids! We Want To Hear Why Your Summer Was Amazing

Posted

Everyone says that kids these days are glued to their smartphones or tablets. But we at the Voice know better — and we’re pretty sure that if we ask, we’ll hear some pretty amazing stories about how our local youth spent their summer. So help prove us right (and all the haters wrong) by writing us 200 words about how you spent your summer. There’s even pizza in it for you if we like your story enough.

Maybe you undertook a community improvement project. Maybe you went on a mission trip or an incredible vacation. Or maybe you did something that made somebody else’s world a little brighter. Whatever it was you did, tell us about it in 200 words or fewer.

Send us your submission by the Friday before Labor Day weekend (that’s Friday, August 31) by 9:00am, and be sure to include your name and age. The contest is open to all rising first- through eighth-graders. Submissions can be sent via email to spvnews@severnaparkvoice.com or by post to P.O. Box 608, Severna Park, MD 21146.

Stories will be adjudicated based on content and quality of writing. The winner will receive a $30 gift card to Ledo Pizza and their story will be printed in the September issue of the Voice.

We look forward to reading what you write!
