Hoffman Animal Hospital To Celebrate 20 Years

Hoffman Animal Hospital, located at 15 Old Mill Bottom Road North in Annapolis, will host an open house on Sunday, October 14. Annapolis pet owners and their furry friends are invited to enjoy festivities, tour the animal hospital and learn more about the basics of pet care. Hoffman Animal Hospital offers routine vet care services, including spaying and neutering, vaccinations and annual check-ups. The hospital also provides emergency care, surgery, medical care and dental care. Pet owners can learn more about these vet services at the open house, and participate in behind-the-scenes tours, interactive pet demonstrations, giveaways, raffles for charity, refreshments and activities for children.

The open house will offer fun for the whole family, including raffle prizes and goodie bags for the first 200 guests. Local vendors will be set up with goodies to share, and there will be complimentary Cluck ‘n Fluff Chili (Homestead Gardens’ Chili Cook-Off winner for 2010-2011). There will also be hotdogs, chips and refreshing drinks available for purchase, with all proceeds going to charity.

Several raffle items will be available to raise money for America’s Vetdogs, Guide Dogs For The Blind, Fidos For Freedom and Hoffman’s own Foundling Fund. Join us to learn more about these wonderful charities and meet some of the dogs and their owners.

Children will be able to take a tour of the hospital, enjoy games with prizes, and participate in one of the following contests: Doggie Drink Race, Poop-Scoop Relay, Pin The Tail On The Dog and a Barking Contest. For the delight of young children, McGruff the Dog is also scheduled to be in attendance.

The Hoffman Animal team will be on hand to provide pet behavior demonstrations on the how-to of raising your puppies and kittens. The Hoffman team is asking that you bring a picture of your animal to be placed on the on the 20th-anniversary collage.

The open house will offer a unique opportunity for Annapolis pet owners to get a behind-the-scenes look at how a vet clinic operates. Pet owners will be able to get a first-hand glimpse at the high-tech equipment used for surgery, ultrasonography and X-rays.

Area elementary schools will be submitting posters for the Hoffman Animal Hospital’s 20-year anniversary poster contest. There will be three winners announced at 2:00pm and prizes will be awarded. The winners of the poster contest artwork will be displayed in the hospital for a year.
