Deja Gibson Named MVP

Three was the lucky number for the Severn School Lady Admirals, who went on to win the three-day Queen Anne’s Holiday Tournament for the third consecutive year with a perfect 3-0 tournament record.
The team opened the tournament with a convincing 71-25 win over Chesapeake High School from Anne Arundel County. On day two, Severn topped St. Stephens and St. Agnes School, 76-49, before finishing the weekend off with a rousing 67-51 victory over Bishop O’Connell.
Following the event, team captain Deja Gibson was named MVP of the tournament.
Under the direction of head coach Chuck Miller, the team is 9-11 this season. Captains Gibson, Alexa Kunowsky and Cassie Quigley lead the team, which also includes Sallie Belasco, Emily Gibbons, Janai Hollinger, Mary Kate Montgomery, Carlie Studnicky and Anna Woepke.
