Posted

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) will hold its April meeting in the Founders Room of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park on Monday, April 8, at 7:00pm. The program will focus on the international rescue committee (IRC) and its work in the Baltimore area. Mari Verrecchia-DeLonde of IRC will introduce a portion of the film “This Is Home: A Refugee Story,” which chronicles their resettlement work in Baltimore with four separate immigrant families from Syria who came seeking asylum from their war-torn country. She will explain the challenges facing new arrivals to this county and the work of IRC in aiding their adjustment. Refreshments will be prepared by one of the Syrian women who has established a catering business featuring her native dishes. Guests and those interested in AAUW membership are welcome. Please contact AAUW at www.annearundelcounty-md.aauw.net for questions or directions. No reservations are required.
