More than 10,500 brave souls participated in the 23rd annual Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge at Sandy Point State Park, raising more than $2 million for Special Olympics Maryland in the process. The day of the big event included many festivities for the whole family, culminating in a series of plunges into the cold waters of the Chesapeake Bay.
