Shipley’s Teacher Assistant Recognized As AACPS Employee Of The Month

“A perpetual problem solver” — that’s how Shipley’s Choice Elementary staff members describe kindergarten teacher assistant Andrea Galdi, who was chosen as the Anne Arundel County Public Schools Employee of the Month in December.

In materials provided to the Board of Education, Shipley’s staff called Galdi the “heart of the school.” She knows all kindergarten students by name and greets them warmly each day. No matter the task, Galdi does it with a positive attitude. Whether it’s lunch duty, bus duty, or working directly with students, she excels and constantly seeks to streamline and improve processes for everyone.

Galdi works with students in small groups and does everything she can to help them be successful. She is also a key member of the school’s “sunshine committee.” Galdi bakes treats for the staff, and frequently offers suggestions or ideas to promote a positive climate in the school.
