First Friday Movies Return To Park Plaza

Posted

Starting Friday, June 7, community members can sit under the stars and watch movies in Park Plaza on the first Friday of the month — a Severna Park tradition since 2011.

“It’s a fun thing to do when the weather’s nice: to be outside watching a movie,” said Dawn Wilson, owner of Side Street Framers and organizer of First Friday Movies. “It’s just a nice community event. People get to talk to each other, spend the evening together, camp out under the stars and have a good time.”

The movies run from June through October with the following schedule:

  • June 7: “Ralph Breaks The Internet,” 8:30pm
  • July 5: “Trolls,” 8:30pm
  • August 2: “Mary Poppins Returns,” 8:20pm
  • September 6: “Dumbo,” 7:30pm
  • October 4: “Hotel Transylvania 3,” 6:45pm

First Friday Movies is sponsored by the Merchants of Park Plaza. This year, Bill Harris of Coldwell Banker is providing a free photo booth during the June movie. Hat Trix will provide live music starting at 6:00pm.

Some Park Plaza vendors will offer services during First Friday Movies. Side Street Framers will have tables with painting and art for sale. Ledo Pizza will take orders and deliver food to families in attendance.

To keep up with any cancellations or important information, visit First Friday Movie Under The Stars. It is free to watch the movie, but families must bring their own blankets and chairs.

“It creates that great community sense, so if people could spread the word, that would be awesome,” Wilson said.
