It’s a busy weekend in Severna Park! There are plenty of chances to catch live music and live theater performances, as well as better your health and raise money for good causes.   1. “Mamma Mia” at Broadneck High SchoolFriday, February 22 and Saturday, February 23

Broadneck High School presents “Mamma Mia” this weekend and next weekend. The story takes place over the 24 hours leading up to Sophie’s wedding. Behind her mother’s back, Sophie invited three of her mom’s old boyfriends who could potentially be her father. Broadneck High School. Times vary.   1. Frozen Harbor Music FestivalFriday, February 22 and Saturday, February 23

After more than 20 years, Shakespeare is back at The Colonial Players of Annapolis with “The Merry Wives of Windsor.” Set in 1980’s Windsor, Connecticut, the Shakespearean comedic farce will feature all the music, fashion and cultural references of the ‘80s with the language and characters we love. The Ballet Theatre of Maryland opens “Snow White” on Friday as part of its 40th anniversary season.   1. Heartbeat For Health at The Y in ArnoldSaturday, February 23

University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center is sponsoring Heartbeat for Health at The Y in Arnold on Saturday. This free event celebrates the benefits of dance and exercise in the prevention of heart disease, while reinforcing community awareness and education about overall health and wellness. Enjoy activities, exercise challenges and obstacle courses, as well as free health screenings. The Y in Arnold. 10:00am-1:00pm. More info.

  1. Womenade Charity Event at Rockwell FitnessSaturday, February 23

Rockwell Fitness is hosting a charity workout on Saturday to benefit Womenade. Both members and non-members are welcome to take part in the workout. There is no cost to participate, but a $20 donation to Womenade is suggested. Rockwell Fitness. Noon-1:00pm. More info.

Shooter’s Sports Bar & Grill is hosting its eighth annual chili cook-off this Saturday. All proceeds will benefit the Animal Welfare League of Queen Anne’s County. Author Brigid Kemmerer will be at Severna Park Library this Saturday to discuss her newest book “A Curse So Dark and Lonely.” Kemmerer will talk about how she blended the real world with the fantastic to create this novel, which was inspired by “Beauty and the Beast.” Severna Park Library. 2:00pm-3:30pm. Celebrate the Chinese New Year at Jing Ying Institute of Kung Fu & Tai Chi on Saturday. There will be cookie decorating, origami lessons, live demonstrations of kung fu and tai chi, prizes and more.   1. Reagan’s Charity Hot Chocolate StandSunday, February 24

Reagan is hosting her fourth annual hot chocolate stand on Sunday. This year, all of the proceeds from the stand will be donated to the American Heart Association to support research on congenital heart defects. Reagan will serve Ty’s famous hot chocolate and Evan’s scrumptious cookies for $1 each. There is also a GoFundMe page if you wish to donate. 471 Retford Drive. 1:00pm-3:00pm. More info.

  1. “Escalation” at Woods ChurchSunday, February 24

Woods Church is hosting a screening of “Escalation” this Sunday. The film opens people’s eyes to the warning signs of relationship abuse.
