Annual Music Festival To Benefit Katherine’s Light Foundation Slated For June 14

Posted

Save the date for this year’s Katherine Mueller All-Day Music Festival coming up on June 14. The annual event is a fundraiser hosted by local nonprofit Katherine’s Light Foundation (KLF) in honor of Katherine Mueller, who died of a rare form of cancer in 2021 at the age of 31.

All proceeds will further KLF’s mission of supporting organizations that promote education, awareness, research, support and wellness for cancer patients. In 2024, KLF donated over $100,000 to the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation, Baltimore Washington Medical Center Foundation, Wellness House of Annapolis, Anne Arundel Community College Foundation, Luminis Health – Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation, Mercy Medical Center, and SPAN (Serving People Across Neighborhoods).

This year’s music festival will again be held at Severna Park Taphouse and will run from noon to 8:00pm. Attendees can enjoy acoustic jams indoors and numerous bands outside under a big tent, making the experience a fun one rain or shine. Musicians scheduled to play at the event include The Crayfish, Lost & Found Trio Band, Miggs Rangel, DJ Brian Austin, George Evans, Honey Sol, and others.

The festival will also include live and silent auctions and raffles. Food and drinks will be available for purchase as well.

KLF has a goal to raise $50,000 through the event to continue their philanthropic work.

Larry Sells, Mueller’s stepfather and co-founder of KLF, said that the positive impact the nonprofit has in the community is not only a way to honor Katherine, but also is therapeutic for those who loved her. “It helps us to pour goodness over some sadness,” he said in anticipation of the music festival.

He and his wife, Robin Sells, Mueller’s mother, consider it a blessing when people in the community choose to attend KLF’s annual fundraiser or support the nonprofit in other ways.

“We take it personally … the love – we feel it loud and clear, and when they choose (to support) us it just means the world to us,” Larry said.
