Arts Council Of Anne Arundel County Presents Paint The Town

The Arts Council of Anne Arundel County (ACAAC) announces Paint The Town — an evening with the arts — will be held May 14 at the Westin in Annapolis. ACAAC invites everyone to join the party and celebrate the arts in Anne Arundel County.

Paint The Town will serve as a showcase for local talent. Singer-songwriter Kristi Allen and Bossa Nova virtuosos Jonathan Stone and Mike Noonan will perform during cocktail hour on the terrace. Guests can try their hand at painting with celebrity artist Cell Spitfire, and hope to win his painting to take home. The Annapolis Symphony Academy Chamber Group will provide music during an artistically inspired dinner.

Guests, and even those who are unable to attend, will have the opportunity to bid on auction items donated by local artists, arts organizations, and businesses. And just when you think the evening is winding down, the lights go low and the music heats up with Chanssez’ — an Annapolis DJ and entertainer extraordinaire

Paint The Town is not just about fun — it’s about raising funds for an important cause. The evening’s proceeds will enable ACAAC to continue its 29-year legacy of providing advocacy, funding, and support for local artists and arts organizations. In 2022, the arts council has already awarded grants to 60-plus arts organizations and more than 100 independent artists, and provided critical funding to arts in education programs in local schools. With the public’s help, ACAAC can do even more.

“Over the last year, the state and the county stepped up and provided additional resources that enabled the arts community to survive and even thrive during the pandemic,” said April Nyman, ACAAC executive director. “It has sparked incredible innovation, and now, through the generosity of our donors, we have an extraordinary opportunity to make Anne Arundel County a world-class place for the arts.”

The public is encouraged to join the party! Visit for more information and to purchase tickets. Follow ACAAC on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn to stay up to date on Paint The Town.
