Broadneck, Severna Park Volleyball Teams Retool For 2026

Youth Will Determine Bruins’ Success

When last we saw the Broadneck volleyball team, they were celebrating their straight-set win over Urbana to claim the 2025 4A state championship.

The 2026 version is going to look quite a bit different, but that doesn’t mean the Bruins are necessarily rebuilding.

Broadneck graduated most of their attacking rotation from last season, including outside hitters Kennedy Smith and Anna Graves, setter Sydney Lawrence, defensive specialist Chloe Richie and middle blocker Addison Britton. That leaves Stony Brook-bound senior setter Barrett Bolter as the lone returning starter and gives fellow seniors Chloe Hays, Molly Robison and Marley Evans their time to shine.

Broadneck’s roster features three freshmen and five sophomores, and that’s not counting two more underclassmen who will miss the 2026 season due to injury.

The Bruins shape up to be a “young team that will have major growth by the playoffs,” coach Tracey Regalbuto said.

Experienced Falcons Gear Up For Another Run

In Severna Park, the Falcons look to ramp up the experience factor another level, as they seek a way to vie for a region championship against perennial state power Arundel.

Severna Park returns multiple starters, including four-year varsity player Jennifer Hong, as well as sophomore outside hitter Hannah McKinstry. That duo will hope to replicate the departed combo of Gena Willis and Lizzie Ranaghan.

Coach Caitlin Mills called her team “more experienced than in previous years, (with) 10 returning players gelling very quickly together.”

Heavy experience combined with budding leadership will be key for the Falcons if they are to achieve their lofty aims for 2026.
