We are excited to announce our newest members of the chamber: Bay Area CPR, LLC; Healthspan Nutrition; Kwik Dry of Anne Arundel County; Ally 4 Pets, LLC; Equinox Innovative Systems; and Cruise Planners American Express Travel.

We held five ribbon-cutting celebrations in February. On February 5, we held a hugely attended ribbon cutting for owners Daniele Morgan and Winsome Brown of Lean on Dee, Senior Care Advocates Inc. These energetic sisters work to help families identify senior care solutions for elderly loved ones. On February 7, Wild Ewes Woolery welcomed guests to its wonderful store filled with gorgeous knitting and crafting supplies. Libations were provided by Annapolis Home Brew and desserts by Lisa’s Cakepops. On February 22, we held a ribbon cutting for Kumon in Severna Park. Owners Robin and Liz Kim welcomed over 50 friends and family to our area’s newest learning center. On February 27, we held a ribbon cutting celebration for Kwik Dry of Anne Arundel County. Franchise owners Lou and Susana Goodwin are anxious to get started in their carpet and upholstery cleaning business. And on February 29, we held a ribbon cutting for Donut Shack. We are so happy “the Shack is Back” to its original look, feel and recipes thanks to new owners Ali Matthews and Ben Hilliard, and community members couldn’t be happier.

On February 6, we held a multi-chamber networking event at La Fontaine Bleue in Glen Burnie. More than 100 attendees enjoyed meeting one another and exchanging cards.

The Learn and Lead Committee held a workshop on February 11 at Romilo’s Restaurant in Severna Park. The workshop was part two of the Motivation Series kicking off the new year. Meetings are sponsored by Popham and Associates and co-chaired by Treebranch Group.

Our Successful Women in Business group held a valentine’s mixer on February 12 at The Blended Essentials in Severna Park. Attendees created candles, bath salts and scented rollers. Owner Danielle Bowen is a master in project management, ensuring that everyone created perfect products. This has become a hugely popular place for events ranging from bridal showers to kids’ parties, and it’s a wonderful gift store too.

We are planning for our Shop Local Fun Fiesta, which will be held at Park Plaza on May 2. We anticipate over 60 participants and will have food, entertainment, shopping, kids’ games and more. Please mark your calendar for this fun spring event that is free. Hours will be 11:00am to 3:00pm.

It’s beginning to look a lot like parade time! Our annual July 4 parade will be held on Saturday, July 4, from 10:00am to 11:30am in Severna Park. This year’s theme is “Celebrating Our Rich Community History”. Our grand marshal is local historian and retired business owner Scott Jay. We would love to see an outpouring of community participation with floats and walkers! Please contact our office at 410-647-3900 with questions. Applications can be downloaded from our website at www.gspacc.com

Please join the chamber and support the Shop Local movement!
