We are so grateful to these businesses for choosing our community to bring jobs, goods and personalized services that support us and our local economy.

We held three ribbon-cutting celebrations in July. First was the grand opening of Fox Auto Services Academy in Glen Burnie. Owner Salvador Vega created the academy to train community members interested in the car mechanic field.
Next was the grand opening of Sweetbay Assisted Living, a boutique assisted living home in Severna Park. It allows a maximum of 10 residents, making the facility truly feel like home.
Finally, we celebrated the eighth anniversary of Blendabowl and the fifth anniversary of the restaurant in Pasadena. The eatery offers a variety of acai bowls and vegetarian creations, all in a nut-free space.

The highlight of July was our annual Independence Day parade, made unique by the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of our nation. It was unfortunate to move the parade to July 11 due to the heat wave, but we still enjoyed a great turnout of both spectators and parade entries. Many thanks to the parade sponsors, volunteers, community supporters, judges, parade participants and you for keeping this wonderful event alive.

Finally, our TGIF cookout was held at the chamber and sponsored by the Severna Park Voice on behalf of the Walk the Walk Foundation. Walk the Walk Foundation is a faith-centered organization that exists to bless children in need by empowering individuals to serve through their time, talents and treasure.

As always, we encourage you to patronize our local businesses. Supporting local businesses keeps more money, jobs and resources circulating within the community, strengthening its economic stability. It also preserves the unique character of the area, creating a vibrant, connected place that we are proud to call home.
