We are so grateful to these businesses for choosing our community to bring jobs, goods and personalized services that support us and our local economy!
On the first Tuesday of August, our chamber sponsored and participated in National Night Out, held at Kinder Farm Park. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live, and the occasion is celebrated across the country.
BD Provisions in Severna Park hosted the official grand opening celebration for Sweet Escape Bookshop, a mobile bookstore, in August. It was a lively afternoon shopping in the wonderful store and in the amazing bookshop.
We have more than 60,000 businesses in Anne Arundel County, so it makes sense that we have six chambers of commerce. We are all here to help our businesses grow and often participate in multi-chamber events to bring our members together. Our event in August was held at the Maritime Institute of Technology and offered speed networking for over 150 attendees.
Our Successful Women in Business mixer was held at The Blended Essentials in Severna Park. It was a fun time to network and see the vast array of products in the store. Owner Danielle Bowen instructed us on how to make a travel-size soap bar in a personalized scent, shape and color.
Our TGIF cookout was held at the chamber and sponsored by Arundel Bank, formerly Arundel Federal Savings Bank. This is a community bank that has been serving Maryland since 1906, with a focus on personal relationships, local decision-making, and helping neighbors thrive. Ice cream was provided by Bruster’s Real Ice Cream in Severna Park. Popcorn was made fresh by the Negron Farmers Insurance Agency.
As kids return to class, local businesses step up — donating supplies, sponsoring school events, and helping fund the programs that make a real difference for students. When you shop locally, you are fueling the very businesses that invest directly in your children’s schools and activities, creating a cycle of support that keeps the whole community thriving.
