DragonFest To Support Cancer Survivors On October 13

Posted

The Annapolis Dragon Boat Club is celebrating its third annual festival — DragonFest — on October 13 from noon to 4:00pm at Pier 4 Marina, located at 301 Fourth Street in Eastport, Annapolis.

Entry is free to this street party. Festivities include live music, barbecue, oysters, drinks, raffle items, and silent auction items, as well as fun activities for the kids.

Paddling with a Purpose

With more than 100 members, including several from Severna Park and Arnold, the Annapolis Dragon Boat Club is dedicated to supporting recovery from breast cancer and all other cancers through paddling on Spa Creek in Annapolis and competing in dragon boat races. The volunteer organization enhances the lives of those affected by cancer through building physical strength, endurance, confidence and friendships, and through the pure joy of being on the water with others.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

DragonFest occurs during October for this reason. This annual celebration is the club’s biggest fundraising event of the year. All proceeds go to outreach programs, 2025 club operations, training, and boat/slip maintenance.

The Annapolis Dragon Boat Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization. For more information, visit www.annapolisdragonboatclub.org.
