Eastern District National Night Out Will Encourage Community Engagement With Law Enforcement

Posted

Every year on the first Tuesday of August, community members unite to foster the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement and to allow residents to interact with police in a positive environment. This year’s National Night Out for the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s (AACPD) Eastern District is scheduled for Tuesday, August 5, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Kinder Farm Park.

This year will mark 10 years of National Night Out for AACPD’s Eastern District. The free event will take place rain or shine, and there will be activities for all ages to enjoy. Community members can look forward to games, prizes, Touch a Truck, light fare and beverages, and more.

The event allows community members the opportunity to explore police and fire vehicles and observe a K-9 demonstration in a safe environment. Attendees will also have the chance to talk with members of local law enforcement and ask them questions.

The Eastern District National Night Out began at Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company in 2015, but it outgrew the space two years ago and moved to Kinder Farm Park. In previous years, the event has been one of the largest of its kind in the country.

The venue is located at 1001 Kinder Farm Park Road in Millersville. For more information on the upcoming event, go to www.nationalnightouteasterndistrict.org or view the “Anne Arundel County Eastern District: National Night Out” Facebook page.
