Fourth Of July Fireworks Alight Throughout Maryland

The days surrounding Independence Day are the perfect time of year to view fireworks in local areas. Whether you are planning to stay local or hoping to travel for the holiday, there are opportunities to view fireworks shows throughout Maryland. Below is a list of fireworks displays taking place all over the state the weekend before and the weekend of the Fourth of July.

June 28 – Odenton, MD: The Gambrills-Odenton Recreation Council (GORC) will hold a Fourth of July celebration the Saturday before the holiday, with vendors, food trucks, a DJ and more. The festivities begin at 6:30pm, and the fireworks start at 9:30pm. Check the GORC Wildcats’ Facebook page for more information.

July 2 – Chester, MD: Queen Anne’s County will hold a fireworks display at 9:15pm, following free family activities that commence at 6:00pm. Additional event details can be found at www.qac.org/1411/annual-family-fireworks.

July 3 – Aberdeen, MD: Ripken Stadium’s Red, White & Boom! event will take place from 7:00pm-9:30pm the night before Independence Day, finishing out with a fireworks extravaganza. Tickets can be purchased at www.ripkenevents.com/redwhiteandboom.

July 3 – Glen Burnie, MD: Glen Burnie Improvement Association (GBIA) will begin its annual fireworks display after sunset, approximately at 9:00pm, with a rain date of July 5. Additional information can be found on the GBIA Facebook page.

July 3 – Severn River, MD: A day before the holiday, the Sherwood Forest community on the Severn River holds a fireworks display, which is visible to spectators outside the community by boat on the Severn River or from select community beaches in the area.

July 4 – Columbia, MD: Produced by Columbia Association and Howard County, the fireworks celebration will feature live entertainment and take place from 5:00pm-10:00pm, with a start time for this year’s fireworks still to be announced. July 4 – Bowie, MD: The Chesapeake Baysox will hold a Red, White & BOOM! event on July 4 after their game against the Richmond Flying Squirrels, as part of their Independence Day celebration. Tickets are available at www.milb.com/chesapeake/tickets/promotions.

July 4 – Baltimore, MD: Baltimore City’s Inner Harbor will start a fireworks and drone show at 9:00pm, following an afternoon picnic and live music performances. More information about the free celebration can be found at www.baltimore.org/event/fourth-of-july-in-baltimore.

July 4 – Annapolis, MD: Independence Day celebrations in Annapolis will kick off with a parade at 6:30pm, followed by a fireworks display launched from a floating barge in the harbor starting at 9:15pm. July 4 – Catonsville, MD: Catonsville’s fireworks display will begin at 9:15pm, though guests are invited to arrive early to stake out their spot, buy from vendors, and listen to music during the Fireworks Family Fun Fest, which begins at 6:30pm. July 4 – Bel Air, MD: Bel Air’s fireworks display will begin at approximately 9:30pm, launched from Rockfield Park. There is no rain date. More information can be found at www.belairjuly4.org.

July 4 – Ocean City, MD: Ocean City will set off two fireworks displays. People staying uptown can enjoy fireworks at 9:30pm following DJ music provided by Radio Ocean City’s BK and Chrissy, while people downtown can watch fireworks over the ocean at the same time, after a music celebration hosted by DJ Kutt. July 4 – Easton, MD: Hosted by the Easton Knights of Columbus, Easton’s carnival will have a fireworks display that begins after dusk. The rain date for the fireworks is July 5. The event’s webpage can be found at www.tourtalbot.org/easton-carnival.

July 4 – Westminster, MD: Carroll County’s largest fireworks display is hosted by the Carroll County Farmhouse Museum, and it’s accompanied by food, children’s activities, live entertainment and more. July 4 – Salisbury, MD: Salisbury will have a Red, White and Boom fireworks show at 9:15pm at James M. Bennett High School. Learn more at www.redwhiteboomsalisbury.com.

July 5 – Laurel, MD: Laurel’s fireworks will begin at 9:00pm, taking place after a day full of Fourth of July festivities. The event highlights and schedule are available at laurel4th.org.

July 5 – St. Michaels, MD: St. Michaels’ fireworks display will begin at dusk, though guests are invited to settle in for music and dancing before they begin. Fireworks will be viewable from town and from the Miles River.
