Posted

The Severna Park Green Hornets 2035 boys lacrosse team finished the summer tournament season with consecutive championships at the Summer Aloha Cup on May 31 at Troy Park in Elkridge, Maryland, and the Apex Coastal Classic in Ocean City, Maryland, on June 14.

Coaches Garrett Wells, Brent Hardie, Keith Baker and Gary Clipp led the team to a 5-0 record in the Summer Aloha Cup, beating the Annapolis Hawks Black in the championship game 9-3. The Hornets played up an age group in Ocean City and went undefeated, beating the 2034 South Carroll Select team 7-4 in the championship game.

The attack group of Mitchell Baker, James Hardie, Julian LaBarge and Landon Van Dyke (tournament MVP) controlled the ball and pumped in plenty of goals. The midfielders scored plenty as well in addition to dominating faceoffs and transition play. Midfielders James Wells, Patrick Cassilly, Grant Locher, Rhodes Metzger, Luke Obringer, Jack Logue, Gavin Wong, Lucian Hogan, Max Reineck and Von Plikuhn all ran hard in the summer heat. Ham Ostrosky contributed as the long-stick midfielder. The stingy defense was manned by Francis Cassilly, Tucker Nichols, Jaxson Rites and Grayson Rex. Maverick Moorhouse and Jameson Chalmers shared goalkeeping duties in the undefeated summer tournament season.
