Hollyberry Garden Club Celebrates 70 Years

Posted

The Hollyberry Garden Club of Severna Park recently celebrated a special milestone — the club’s 70th anniversary. In June, members and guests gathered at the Fairwinds on the Severn clubhouse to share a meal and celebratory cake.

Many past presidents joined current members to reminisce about club trips, events, wreath-making fundraisers and the changes they have witnessed in the Severna Park community over the years. Members also reflected on the local gardens the club is dedicated to maintaining throughout the year, including at Hatton Regester Green and in front of the Severna Park Library.

Numerous binders, carefully preserved by the club historian, were shared with attendees. They contained photographs and memories dating back to the 1980s and provided a glimpse into the club’s long history.

The celebration also honored the club’s longtime members, who received special name tags and gifts in recognition of their years of service and dedication. Several current members joined because their mothers had been Hollyberry Garden Club members, and they have now participated in the club for 25–30 years themselves.

The Hollyberry Garden Club is currently sponsoring a tulip and daffodil sale. For more information, visit the club’s Facebook page.
