Indian Creek School Hosts On-Campus Vaccination Clinic

Posted

Indian Creek School partnered with Soleil Pharmacy, from Glen Burnie, to hold a COVID-19 vaccine clinic for students age 16-plus and household members of ICS students (prekindergarten through grade 12), employees and alumni on Thursday, April 22. Soleil held the clinic in the Indian Creek’s upper school gymnasium from 2:00pm to 5:00pm and delivered 200 doses of the Pfizer vaccine. The clinic will return on May 13 to administer the second dose to those who received the first dose on April 22.

Indian Creek is among the first schools in the region to hold a clinic for students, thanks to the hard work of the school’s medical team and their partnership with Soleil. Prior to the clinic, 98% of the school’s faculty and staff had been vaccinated, and eligible students had been seeking local appointments as they became available. The school, which has offered both in-person and virtual learning to students this school year, will continue to adhere to health and safety protocols, including wearing masks, washing hands and physically-distancing. The increased vaccination rates resulting from the clinic will contribute to the collective safety of the school community, providing an additional layer of reassurance for families of high school students as prom and graduation season approaches.
