Huggies, in partnership with the National Diaper Bank Network, donated 200,000 diapers to The Walk the Walk Foundation (WTWF), an Anne Arundel County nonprofit organization. The Walk the Walk Foundation received the large donation on February 26 at its Millersville warehouse.
This marks the second time Huggies has made such a significant contribution to WTWF; it also donated 200,000 diapers in the summer of 2024.
“A heartfelt thank you to Huggies and the National Diaper Bank Network for facilitating this incredible donation,” said WTWF Executive Director Nicole Dolan. “Every parent deserves access to the support they need to ensure their child’s health.”
The Walk the Walk Foundation collaborates with the National Diaper Bank and various local agencies to provide free diapers to low-income families in Anne Arundel County. The foundation relies on the help of volunteers and donations from individuals and organizations to serve the community. In 2024, WTWF distributed over 400,000 diapers to Anne Arundel County children, up 81% from 2023.
In Maryland, one in two families struggles to provide clean, dry diapers for their children. A baby will use approximately 7,000 diapers before becoming potty trained. Currently, no government programs cover the cost of diapers for families. At over $100 per month per child, this expense contributes to the cycle of poverty. Additionally, three in five parents miss work or school because they cannot afford the necessary diapers for their child.
