On Par With Its Mission, Nonprofit Will Support Students With Golf Tournament

The Complete Player charity (TCP) empowers underserved youth in Anne Arundel County by “unleashing the leader within.” The nonprofit plans to serve more than 200 elementary and middle school children through after school, in-school and summer programs this fiscal year.

To help fund those programs, TCP is holding its seventh annual golf tournament fundraiser at Compass Pointe Golf Course in Pasadena on September 9. Sign-in starts at 8:00am and tee time is 9:30am.

Through its fundraising efforts, TCP hopes to close education and opportunity gaps. TCP programs focus on mentoring and extracurricular activities that equip youth with the character, confidence, emotional intelligence and experiences they need to achieve academic and life success.

“Since TCP mentors have been in the building, behavioral incidents in the fifth grade dropped significantly and quickly,” said Tabatha Camacho, who was the assistant principal of Brooklyn Park Elementary School. She has since become principal at Chesapeake Science Point Elementary School. “A contributing factor is having the TCP mentors available for emotional support for the students. Their presence is making a huge impact.”

For the tournament, individual registration is $175 per person and $700 per foursome. To register or to see sponsorship opportunities, visit the TCP event page.
