Earl Smith has appeared as an extra in the “Rocky” spinoff “Creed 2” and the thriller “17 Bridges.” Now, he has added “The Mountaineer” to his resume.

An independent film by Richie Acevedo, filmed in 2020, “The Mountaineer” was filmed and set in Virginia, on property that formerly contained saloons and western-like villages.

The story follows Victoria Stokes, a young daughter of a wealthy businessman, who runs away to escape an evil coal tycoon, Langley Prescott, so she can instead be with the man she truly loves, Joshua Forbes.

“I had a special interest in being a part of this film,” Smith said. “I happen to love the 1800s era and find it very intriguing, so I thought it would be a perfect fit. Shortly after applying for the film, I was contacted by Richie Acevedo; he asked if I was interested in standing in for a kill scene that I happen to be a part of.”

Smith recalled another scene where he and other men walked through the woods. “In the film, I can be seen wearing a black western-like shirt and a black cowboy hat,” he said.

The film is available here.
