Severna Park Family Shares Petco Love Story, Vies For People’s Choice Award

Posted

Severna Park resident Julie Newman and her family adopted a “love-a-bull” pitbull named Zeke last April. Their story was one of 101, out of approximately 10,000, selected as a Petco Love Story. With that honor, the Newman family earned a $10,000 grant from Petco Love and BOBS from Skechers this December for Pitties & Purrs Rescue Inc., the Baltimore rescue group they adopted from last year. They are now eligible for an additional grant if they win the People’s Choice Award. Voting ends on December 15, and your help is welcome.

“This money would help Pitties & Purrs save lives,” Newman said. “They are a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization and they specialize in taking medical cases (pitbulls and cats, primarily), so they often accrue hefty vet bills on the animals they save.”
