Juanita Williams celebrated her 100th birthday on March 27 at her daughter’s Severna Park home. She had an appropriate COVID-19 drive-by visitation from 2:00pm to 4:00pm while sitting next to a 25-foot birthday sign in her front yard. Flags were flying, representing her birth state (Ohio), her family rearing state (California), her retirement state (Maryland) and the family military service – the United States Navy.
Visitors included family, over 60 neighbors and friends, and Anne Arundel County fire and police vehicles, with their sirens and lights blaring. Each received a chocolate candy bar commemorating Williams’ special day with a wrapper designed by her granddaughter, Heather. Williams’ recognition included citations from Governor Larry Hogan and County Executive Steuart Pittman, and over 200 cards with congratulations and best wishes.
