“SPENT: Discussing Dementia” To Premiere on MPT Next Week


June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, so Severna Park filmmakers Daphne Glover and Bob Ferrier produced a companion piece to the Emmy-nominated film “SPENT: The Hidden Cost of Dementia” — covered by the Voice in 2018. The new piece, “SPENT: Discussing Dementia,” premieres June 21 on Maryland Public Television (MPT) right after a rebroadcast of the first film.

“SPENT: Discussing Dementia” brings together leading experts in the fields of dementia and related illness to help viewers better understand the disease, the importance of early diagnosis, and how best to prepare financially and emotionally for what is sure to be a challenging road for millions of Americans.

Moderated by the Emmy-award winning producers of “SPENT: The Hidden Cost of Dementia,” this timely expert-driven panel discussion will help provide the answers to the many questions folks have who are in the throes of this disease, including recognizing the early warning signs, providing the best care possible for their situation, and understanding the financial implications through a micro and macro lens.
