Statement From The GSPACC Regarding Parade Cancellation

It is with deep regret that we must announce the cancellation of this year’s Independence Day parade. Maryland continues to operate under Governor Larry Hogan’s State of Emergency order, which stipulates that no parades or large gatherings are to be held to avoid the potential spread of the coronavirus. The parade has been a beloved community event for decades, and our chamber has been honored to organize the event for many years. We hope that the emergency declaration will be lifted by Labor Day so that we can hold the parade then and celebrate not only the birth of our country but also our workers.
