The Cordish Companies, Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland and the Anne Arundel County Local Development Council (LDC) endowed more than $17.5 million in local impact and community grants to organizations in Anne Arundel County for Fiscal Year 2025. The recipients were recognized at the annual grantee ceremony at Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland’s Event Center.
This year marks Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland’s 12th year of operation, giving back to community organizations throughout Anne Arundel County. After this year’s round of grants, the total funds generated by Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland, and distributed through the LDC, reaches a new milestone: more than $240 million.
“Year after year, The Cordish Companies and Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland continue to make an impactful contribution to Anne Arundel County,” said Steuart Pittman, county executive. “These grants provide needed funds to the community and nonprofit organizations that service the residents of our county.”
Representatives of The Cordish Companies, Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland, and members of the LDC came together to present the grants to the recipients at a celebratory luncheon. Honorees included representatives from county and municipality operational and capital programs, human services organizations, community revitalization and beautification, and programs to enhance quality education services and opportunities throughout the Anne Arundel County community. The grant awards were suggested by the LDC to the county executive, who included the recommendations in his FY2025 Budget.
“Over the past 12 years, Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland has proven itself to be a true and loyal partner in our pursuit of bettering the lives of all Anne Arundel County residents,” said Karen McJunkin, LDC Chairperson. “Presenting these grants to representatives of such impactful organizations provides a reminder of the power of a unified community.”
“We consider the role we play in the greater community as both a duty and a privilege,” said Joseph Weinberg, principal of The Cordish Companies. “Through our partnership with the LDC, we’ve been able to make a lasting impact on the organizations that support Anne Arundel County.”
