Theater In The Park Staff Members Take On New Roles

Posted

In just a few rehearsals, Theater in the Park takes young actors and trains them to perform a Broadway musical in their own community. Two of the talented performers and educators who make that possible are Kylie Sjolie and Atticus Boidy, who have been elevated to new positions with Theater in the Park.

Kylie Sjolie

Kylie Sjolie is the new artistic director of Theater in the Park. A director, performer, producer and theater educator, Sjolie has been directing for more than 13 years and has worked with numerous youth and community theater organizations throughout Maryland. In addition to her role with Theater in the Park, Sjolie serves as the sales, marketing and event coordinator at the Severna Park Community Center.

She remains active as a performer throughout the region and has worked with organizations including Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre, Colonial Players, 2nd Star Productions and more. Sjolie has also received acting award nominations for her performances in musical theater productions.

As artistic director, Sjolie brings experience from both the educational and performance sides of theater and looks forward to helping Theater in the Park continue to grow and provide quality theatrical opportunities for young performers throughout the community.

“Because I’ve been involved with Theater in the Park since its founding, this role is especially meaningful to me,” Sjolie said. “I’ve had the opportunity to watch the organization grow from an idea into a thriving theater community for young performers. I’m honored to step into the role of artistic director and excited to continue building on that foundation while creating new opportunities for students throughout our community.”

Atticus Boidy

Atticus Boidy is a theater director, designer, technical director and teaching artist with more than a decade of experience in theater production and arts education. He was recognized with the 2025 Arts Education Annie Award for his innovation, mentorship and impact on student artists. He is now the director of productions and theater operations for Theater in the Park.

His work spans professional theaters, educational institutions and youth arts programs throughout the region. His directing, lighting design and technical work have been seen with organizations including Children’s Theatre of Annapolis, Theater in the Park, Maryland Theatre Collective, 2nd Star Productions, Colonial Players of Annapolis, Silhouette Stages and Anne Arundel Community College.

“I am so excited to jump into this role and continue working with Theater in the Park,” Boidy said. “I have been with the company as a contractor since 2019 and have loved being a part of the community. Starting this new position opens up so many opportunities for me to grow as an artist, leader and educator.”
