During National Diaper Need Awareness Week, September 14-20, Walk the Walk Foundation (WTWF) helped highlight a basic need affecting families throughout Anne Arundel County: access to an adequate supply of diapers. Nearly one in two families with young children experiences diaper need, meaning they struggle to afford enough diapers to keep their babies and toddlers clean, dry and healthy.
WTWF’s Diapers for Babies program distributes approximately 60,000 diapers each month, helping provide diapers to more than 1,000 local children through a network of community partners.
On September 17, WTWF held its monthly diaper distribution at its Millersville warehouse, where community partner organizations pick up thousands of diapers to distribute directly to the families they serve. That morning, WTWF leaders received a proclamation from Anne Arundel County recognizing National Diaper Need Awareness Week.
