Walking In Kinder Farm Park June 10

The Freestate Happy Wanderers Walking/Volksmarch Club has scheduled a walking event on June 10 in Kinder Farm Park, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the club and National Trails Day.

Volksmarch/walking is a wonderful way to discover historical and quaint places in Maryland at a slower pace. Visit www.my.ava.org or email wahasse1798@verizon.net for a brochure and join for fun, fitness and friendship.

The Kinder Farmhouse will be open for tours on June 10, and more information will be available about trails and clubs.

The Freestate Happy Wanderers Walking Club is a locally based club in Maryland. All of the trails are sponsored by local clubs belonging to the American Volkssport Association (AVA), a national nonprofit organization that promotes awareness of physical fitness for people of all ages. A year-round (YRE) walk in Kinder Farm Park is one of 14 trails Freestate sponsors. Other walks are in Savage, Chesapeake Beach, the BWI Airport Trail, Ocean City, Brookside Gardens, Fort Smallwood Park.

Club walks are non-competitive events (volksmarches) scheduled throughout the year, and mostly scheduled on weekends with several other walking clubs in Maryland. They are not a pledge walk, but they are fun walks to do by yourself or with your family, friends and pets at your own pace. Adequate time is allowed to finish the event on trails that are five or 10 kilometers.
