In honor of Severna Park resident Brian Adam, three of his loved ones ran 100 miles from Centreville, Maryland, through Delaware to Ocean City over the weekend, beginning on World Parkinson’s Day on April 11.
Despite rain and cold temperatures, Nick Manis, Jeff Begin and LJ Urie completed the run and raised over $133,000 — and counting — for the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Their trainer, Ryan Morrissey of PEAK Custom Fitness Solutions, jumped in for miles 41-75, and friend Blake Wood entered the run at mile 63.
Adam died in 2023 after a courageous bout with Parkinson’s disease and multiple system atrophy. We shared his family’s story in the April edition of the Severna Park Voice.
“(I am) so proud of these young men and all they did to honor someone they loved,” Harriet Adam, Brian’s wife, said after the run.
