The fourth annual Play For P.I.N.K. tournament at Chartwell Golf & Country Club took place on August 13. The event was a Chartwell Women’s Golf Association fundraiser to support breast cancer research.

Play for P.I.N.K. (prevention, immediate diagnosis, new technology, knowledge) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research through sporting and lifestyle events. Andrew Ewald, a researcher and director of the department of cell biology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, spoke to tournament participants about his personal experiences and how they inspire him to understand how breast cancer spreads and to identify preventive strategies to improve patient outcomes.
