Elks Lodge And Services From The Heart Partner To Feed Families This Holiday Season

Posted

Severna Park - Elks Lodge 2482 partnered with Services from the Heart Backpack Buddies Program to provide 60 holiday meal bags to program recipient families at Belle Grove Elementary School in Brooklyn Park this season.

Members of the Elks Lodge purchased and packed 30 Thanksgiving and 30 Christmas holiday meal bags, to be delivered by Elk Lodge members on November 21 and December 19, respectively. The holiday meal bags contain pancake mix, syrup, stovetop stuffing, cake mix, icing, bread mix, green beans, potatoes, cranberry sauce, and a gift card to assist families with purchasing a meat item. The Elks National Foundation (ENF) Committee wrote and submitted a grant to the national Elks organization to fund the holiday food project.

The purpose of the ENF Committee is to help Elks build stronger communities through programs that support youth, serve veterans, and meet the needs in areas where Elks live and work (www.elks.org/enf). Services from the Heart is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing nutritional resources to local students and families in need.
