Theater in the Park LLC
Theater in the Park is a program for kids ages 3-16 to learn and experience theater. It offers workshops for acting through the Youth Actors’ Studio, vocal training through a Pitch Perfect for Kids program, and popular musical theater workshops, where students get to experience a Broadway production from beginning to end with costumes, sets, a sound system and a group of trained directors, where students learn to sing, dance and act. Theater in the Park offers camps and homeschool programs too.
We held six ribbon-cutting celebrations in June. First was the grand opening of Ivory Stone Interiors’ beautiful new studio in Severna Park. Owner Laura Bauer has a showroom for wall and floor covering samples.
Next was the grand opening of The Goddard School in Millersville’s new building. It can now accommodate 275 preschool and kindergarten students.
We opened the UPS Store in Pasadena to great fanfare. In addition to standard services, the UPS Store offers printing, signage and much more.
Over 100 people attended the grand opening of REPS Performance in Severna Park. Owner Travis Clay has converted the old Tuesday Morning location into a high-tech training facility for every age group.
Chesapeake Tax & Financial Services opened its new location in Millersville, and we participated in the celebration.
Lastly, we hosted the grand opening of Zokpia Business Financial Services in Severna Park.
We are so grateful to these businesses for choosing our community to bring jobs, goods and services, and to support our local economy!
Our Successful Women in Business mixer was held at Maher’s Florist in Pasadena. Not only does the business provide beautiful flowers for all occasions, but it also has a liquor license and can include spirits with the flower deliveries. The store also offers a shopping experience for jewelry, decorative plates and glassware, purses and more. Everyone left with a beautiful bouquet.
We held two Business “Bites” lunches in June. The first one showcased Susan Mahaffee, owner of People Rise, who spoke about the challenges facing employers today and human-resource strategies for business success.
The second lunch featured Melody Wukitch, owner of Park Books and LitCo Lab. She talked about building community and how her bookstore has brought people together through events.
Our Monthly Mingle was held at Senor Chile’s in Arnold, where the staff serves delicious, authentic Mexican food.
Finally, our TGIF cookout was held at the chamber and sponsored by Lovejoy Pets. Lovejoy Pets is now in the Severna Park space located by The Lovejoy Project, which has moved to Millersville. The new business is a boutique pet supply and toy business.
