The Magothy River Sailing Association and the Grachur Club will again offer junior training for budding sailors this summer. It’s not too early to think about registration. The program, one of the oldest on the Magothy River, teaches lifelong sailing and water safety skills.
The program will be held on weekdays from July 8 to July 19 at the Grachur Club in Pasadena. Registration will open on February 1 with priority going to MRSA and Grachur Club members (memberships are available for those interested but is not required). Please go to www.magothysailing.org/junior training for more information.
Our program is a volunteer-supported program with our members and junior training families helping to support the program (rigging, derigging, moving boats). This is a great opportunity for those of you who enroll your children in junior training to get a taste of what it takes to support the sailing life.
For those of you who are already avid sailors, and who are US Sailing certified, we will have a vacancy in the fleet captain – junior training position after this summer. If you or anyone you know is interested, let us know and we will get a job description for you! We would love to have you come to Grachur for a couple of days this summer to get a lay of the land and see what the fleet captain is all about. Grace, our fleet captain – junior training, can be reached at juniortraining@magothysailing.org.
